Winners of Essay Competition!
As part of the Children’s Day celebrations, St. Joseph’s Secondary School students participated in an Essay Competition. The competition was for the higher grade children, ie., 8th to 10th classes, and took place on 19th Nov. This event saw the best of writing potential of children, as they came up with very interesting and valid points on the pre-announced topics.
The topics were:
1.Fast Foods from Restaurants! Good or Bad
2.Influence of Internet on Kids.
The main aim was to bring out the creative side of the students along with enhancing their thinking and writing skills. The elements that were considered by the judges for deciding the winning entry were knowledge, compilation, presentation and flow along with vocabulary and grammar.
The competition was judged and reviewed by the teachers, Mrs Nirmala Peter, and Mrs. Sarika. We are pleased to announce the winners as follows:
First prize – S.Sahitya of Class 9th
Second Prize – Pallavi Kulkarni of Class 8th
Third Prize – V.N. Venu Gopal of Class 9th.
This brings the focus to the commendable efforts done by our teachers, not just in imparting education but bringing out the innate abilities and to buff them up.
