At St. Joseph’s Secondary School (SJSS), we believe that for children to achieve their potential, an all-round education – of mind body and spirit-is needed. Therefore, alongside a rigorous curriculum, we emphasize:
Sports: Throughout the year, we organize a wide variety of sports competitions, such as kabbadi, karate, cricket, track and field, and more. And every alternate year, we host a grand Sports Day, where students compete in March Past, Drills, Track and Field, as well as group sports. Students are recognized for their individual abilities as well as for their teamwork, sportsmanship, and house spirit.
The school also elects a Sports Captain, and Sports Vice Captain, who excel at particular sports or are all-round sports champions. They set an example for the rest of the school.
Extracurricular Activities: Students and teachers self-organize into clubs that focus on specific areas such as:
Each club meets once a week and organizes competitions, and presentations to the whole school. Since students and teachers pick and choose the clubs in the areas of their interest, they have an outlet for their creativity, and at the same time, learn how to cooperate and compete.
Every alternate year, we organize an Annual Day, where children put on a grand show of dance, music, skits, elocution, and other creative performances.
Moral Values: Founded and run according to Christian principles, the school, inculcates a strong moral and respectful foundation in all children.
